Writing to you about Friday the 13th on Saturday the 14th. Actually many people seem to believe that yesterday was a bad day. But was it? Maybe for some, but my personal experience denies it. Well you find an explanation about this day from the infamous "Da Vinci Code" but I am not sure about it's validity. But Jason Voorhees might have something to say about why this day is so horrifying for some of us.(And oh, his mother too) But don't our beliefs here represent the superstitious part of our lives? Friday the 13th and even the number 13 they are considered to give us bad luck. But how much bad luck do they bring? Not as bad luck as some of your friends and girlfriends and boyfriends I would like to notice. Actually we ll hold beliefs that are not completely logical. 4th of July: New Update

Well, this might be a happy day for the Americans but it is an average day for us. Well for university students like myself it is a special day but it is as special to us as is the day Aung Sang Suki (Leader of Myanmar, sorry if I have misspelt the name) was placed under house arrest was special to her. I am happy to declare that we have another strike on our hands, this time by the lecturers. And by the way the non-academic's strike is over but it is to no good end as it is obvious from the following shortcomings. Well, we can always blame the government for this. Well actually it is not as it seems. I am not blaming the government needlessly. Exactly a year ago, the same situation occurred and we were "grounded" for a month. The government promised a pay rise for the lecturers but it was never given. That is why this action is taking place, yet again. Government has surely been very unenthusiastic about increasing the salary of the civilians or rather the commoners. CO...

Fairness

Is the world fair? We want it to be. And sometimes we even manage to convince ourselves that it is. So is the world fair, or unfair? Or is it a mix of both? Take a moment to think about it and then come back. Are you with me now? Ah, then come, I have some things to tell you that might interest you. Fairness is a concept and like all concepts it is human and can be pretty personal. One person's idea of fairness might not coincide with another's. A duel can be considered a fair method of confrontation but can anyone vouch that if one of the contenders had a different teacher, an extra day to train, a different meal, the outcome would not be any different than what it is now? Be it skill, training or a bad case of stomach, there are many things that would affect the outcome of the duel and cannot be categorized as "fair".
